As we head into the 4th of July weekend, I want to remind our patients, families, and caregivers of something very important:

Call Us First — We Are Here 24/7

Holiday weekends can be difficult for frail, elderly, disabled, and medically complex patients. Small changes can become big problems quickly if they are not addressed early.

Before going to urgent care, the ER, or the hospital, please call us first whenever possible.

Mobile Physician Associates is available 24/7

If there is a true life-threatening emergency, please call 911 immediately.

A Few Important Holiday Weekend Tips

  • Watch for Small Changes

New weakness, confusion, fever, cough, urinary symptoms, shortness of breath, swelling, wounds, poor appetite, or a sudden change in behavior should not be ignored. These are often the early signs that something medical is developing.

  • Stay Ahead of Heat and Dehydration

Older adults are more vulnerable to heat, dehydration, and medication side effects. Encourage fluids, keep the home cool, avoid prolonged sun exposure, and watch for dizziness, fatigue, or confusion.

  • Prevent Falls

Holiday gatherings can create extra fall risks. Keep walkways clear, make sure lighting is good, use assistive devices, and be careful around rugs, pets, stairs, outdoor patios, and uneven sidewalks.

  • Keep Medications on Track

A change in routine can lead to missed medications or dosing mistakes. Please make sure medications are taken as prescribed and that refills are available before the weekend.

  • Caregivers and Family: Check In Early

This is a good weekend to look closely at hydration, appetite, mobility, safety, wounds, hygiene, and whether your loved one needs more support at home.

  • Our Goal Is to Keep You Safe at Home

Many urgent care, ER, and hospital visits can be avoided with early communication and the right medical guidance.

Please do not wait until a small problem becomes a crisis.

Call Us First. We are here for you 24/7.
